Μπορώ να κάνω yoga και pilates τις μέρες που έχω περίοδο;
Πολλές γυναίκες βιώνουν πόνους κατά την διάρκεια της περιόδου.
Αυτό συμβαίνει γιατί η μήτρα συσπάται και διακόπτεται η παροχή αίματος -άρα και οξυγόνου- προς αυτή, προκαλώντας πόνο κυρίως στην κοιλιά την μέση και το στήθος.
Καμία έρευνα δεν έχει αποδείξει πως η γυμναστική αντενδείκνυται τις ημέρες αυτές. Μάλιστα εκτός από παυσίπονα και ζεστά μπάνια, άλλος ένας τρόπος αντιμετώπισης των πόνων είναι και η ήπια σωματική άσκηση.
Συγκεκριμένα, η yoga και το pilates είναι μια πολύ καλή επιλογή. Καθώς αυτά τα δύο συστήματα εκγύμνασης προάγουν την ευλυγισία, την επιμήκυνση, την κατανόηση της αναπνοής και την ψυχική ευεξία είναι βέβαιο πως οι ενδορφίνες -τα φυσικά παυσίπονα του οργανισμού- θα κατακλύσουν το σώμα. Βέβαια τουλάχιστον τις δύο πρώτες μέρες, όπου η αιμορραγία είναι μεγαλύτερη το μάθημα θα πρέπει να είναι ήπιας έντασης καθώς οι δείκτες του σιδήρου είναι σε χαμηλότερα επίπεδα και η κόπωση είναι μεγαλύτερη.
Το prepilates θα ανακουφίσει το σώμα από πόνους και θα ξεμπλοκάρει «πιασμένους» μύες. Αναπνοή, κινήσεις ωμοπλατών, ρολόι λεκάνης κύκλοι ισχίων. Ήπιες ασκήσεις κοιλιακών με λίγες επαναλήψεις και έμφαση στην ενεργοποίηση του εγκάρσιου κοιλιακού κρίνονται ιδιαίτερα ευεργετικές.
Ένα μάθημα hatha ή restorative yoga (χωρίς πολλούς χαιρετισμούς στον ήλιο και ανάστροφες θέσεις) θα αιματώσει τα κοιλιακά μας όργανα και μας ανακουφίσει από τα δυσάρεστα συμπτώματα. Η στάση του παιδιού (chil’s pose), η στάση της καθιστής τσιμπίδας (paschimottanasana) είναι θέσεις που κάμπτουν τον κορμό προς τα πόδια και μόνο ανακούφιση επιφέρουν. Tις «δύσκολες» μέρες μας αρέσει να συρρικνώνουμε το σώμα μας σαν μπάλα.
