can safely perform during pregnancy, prepare her for childbirth and help her go back to shape after delivery quickly.

Pilates & Pregnancy

Pregnancy is a beautiful time in a woman’s life, so the pregnant woman is not ill, nor does she have any illness to move, carry or even treat her as a patient. She continues living her everyday habits and life generally, unless her gynecologist has given her other instructions.

On the basis of the results of the monthly exams, her doctor can prompt or prevent the pregnant from various activities etc.

Our first goal in a Pilates program is to give the woman who is pregnant an exercise that she can safely perform during pregnancy. Women who exercised before pregnancy may continue to exercise if there is no serious reason for her doctor to make her stop.

However, those, who didn’t exercise before getting pregnant, should avoid training the first trimester of pregnancy and start afterwards, which is advisable as the pregnant woman must support her body (due to the daily burdens and changes that occur in her body).

Our second goal is to design a pilates program that pregnant women can perform everywhere with minimal help and safely.

  • Changes occurring during pregnancy
  • Contraindications to exercise during pregnancy
  • Benefits of exercising during pregnancy
  • What the gymnast should know during pregnancy

Pilates & Pregnancy Educational Seminar

The Pilates & Pregnancy seminar has 3 modules, 1st trimester exercises, 2nd & 3rd trimester exercises and post pregnancy tips.

Training material

The student receives a folder with informative material, pen, block and Pilates & Pregnancy manual with photos.

Seminar requirements

Pilates Mat Level I Certification



Soon after the end of Pilates & Pregnancy Seminar, participants receive the Certificate of Attendance. Automatically their names are listed on our website as a Pilates Teacher / Instructor capable of teaching Pilates & Pregnancy.



Along with the Certificate of Attendance, the Pilates Teacher/Instructor receives an e-mail with the AthensTrainers® Ultimate Pilates System® logo. The logo can be used to describe a lesson at the gym that works or owns, or in promotional t-shirts, rollups, or banners that accompany his/her Pilates lessons.
